What do I need to start a faith journal?
You could buy a journal, but all you really need is a notebook or some paper that you've stapled together. It's fun to make your own journal. I can post some ideas about how to make a journal later. Right now, grab a pen or pencil and some paper -- let's journal!
Why do I need to write about faith stuff? Is this another writing assignment?
This isn't an assignment. It's something you can try, to see if you like it. Journaling is a way to get your thoughts and feelings out. Christianity can be exciting, confusing, and a long journey that you may want to write about.
So, how do I get started?
I will post a new journal "prompt" each week. You can use that idea as a way to jumpstart your writing. Sometimes the writing prompt will be the start to a prayer. Then you can write directly to God, using your own words as a written prayer. Sometimes the prompt will be an idea or situation that makes you think. You can write down your thoughts about it. If you don't like the idea starter, then don't use it. Write your own ideas, or skip writing this week. Check in next week to see the new prompt.
